It is that time of the year when the Grange members will be out doing our State Road section of Mill Brook from Titus Road in a westerly direction. However, each of us within the Grange have committed to do our part by picking up roadside trash on or near our own roads this week as well. Look for the Grange out tomorrow morning on Mill Brook Rd. Give a wave, shout out a THANK YOU, or stop and lend a helping hand. I collected my share on Center Hill Rd yesterday to include a pair of men’s briefs!

Pursuant to RSA 265:102, Littering; Penalties – ” I. No person shall put or place, or cause to be put or placed, in or upon any way, right-of-way, street, square, lane, alley, public bathing place or the approaches thereto, or into or on the ice over any public water, streams or watercourse or the approaches thereto or land bordering the same or other public place in any city or town any bottles, glass, crockery, cans, scrap metal, junk, paper, garbage, old automobile or parts thereof, or refuse of any nature whatsoever or any noxious thing; provided that nothing herein shall be construed as affecting authorized collections of such articles as garbage or refuse.”

More often than not, we see people throwing cigarettes out of their moving vehicles. This DOES constitute littering and may subject the violator to a $297.60 fine.

Please dispose of your trash properly. And if you see it, report it!
