From the desk of Jeff Nute, Landaff Road Agent:

The highway department is looking for some storage cabinets.  If you have a kitchen remodel planned, we would love to have your old cabinets.  It’ll help us and save some landfill space!  We are also looking for a place to get rid of about a dozen truck loads of old wood and brush that has collected at the garage lot over the years.  If you have a stump dump or some other spot for some compostable organics, let me know!  It won’t be something that will happen right away.  It will be a rainy day or between seasons project for us.  You can always call the garage, 603-838-5221 or send an email to landaffroadagent@gmail.com.

While I’m here I’ll give you all a quick update on what’s up with your highway crew…  

We are finishing up on the prep work for the new pavement on our Pearl Lake Road project.  Blaktop will be putting down the two inch base course of pavement around the end of this month.  I’ll let you know when I have a date nailed down so you can avoid the area when that happens.

We are going to be prepping for and pave patching the July 30th storm washed-out spots on Gale Chandler Road.   

We will be doing some fall grading on the bad spots, cleaning out a few ditches and putting down some gravel here and there, too.

It’s nearly time for us to get the plow front back on the big truck and hook up plows and sanders to give them a trial run before we need them.  And with that, you will be seeing whip sticks around town pretty soon to mark hazards and help us find the sides of the road during winter snow storms.  

You might be a bit inconvenienced from time to time, but we’ll do our best to keep you moving.  As always, thank you for your patience and keeping an eye out for us!
