From the desk of Jeff Nute, Landaff Road Agent:
Earlier this fall, the State condemned the pipe carrying Mill Brook under Sym Noyes Road. Because of its diameter, it requires annual inspections by their bridge inspectors. This pipe was “red listed” several years ago, and the town has been proactive, establishing the Culvert Reserve Fund, and to date, it has banked just over $150K. To buy us time to plan the replacement, we will be installing four 4′ X 20′ X 1′ hemlock “crane mats” right on top of the road. We will build gravel approaches and delineate the one lane wide crossing. This will temporarily appease the DOT while we work on a permanent solution.
That all said, Sym Noyes Road, crossing Mill Brook, will be closed next Tuesday, the 12th, from about 8:30A to 2:30P while we install the wood mats and build the approaches over the culvert.
If this will create a burden, please let me know ASAP at landaffroadagent@gmail.comor call the garage at 603-838-5221.
