Chili Chowder Charter Party Success

From the desk of Judy Boulet, Chair of the Friends of Landaff committee:

“Friends of Landaff” News

The Chili Chowder Charter Party on January 25, 2025 was a great success, even though we were competing with two other community events on the same evening.

We offered six different crock pots of Chili and seven different crockpots of Chowder. These were all made by the Friends of Landaff members. Sour cream, shredded cheese, cornbread, and chips enhanced the taste buds. Brownies were served for dessert.

The attendees were treated to a game of Landaff Jeopardy. Every year, people are asked about the highest elevation in Landaff. Who remembers??!! Copies of the Landaff Charter of 1764 were available and it was noted that on January 31, Landaff will be 261 years old. This is the reason why we have the Chili Chowder Charter Party on the last Saturday in January:to celebrate the signing of the Landaff Charter!

The winning ticket for the Restaurant Gift Card Wreath was won by Carol Wharton. The value of the Wreath was $530.00. Local restaurants were very generous with gift cards this year! In addition, Goldie Bourassa, a Holiday Bazaar Vendor,  donated an Alpaca Fiber hat for the raffle and that was won by Mary Beaudin.

Thank you for attending the Chili Chowder Charter Party. Thank you for buying some Restaurant Gift Card Wreath raffle tickets.

All monies raised will be used to fund another Landaff Town Hall Project.

The new dishwasher and two new picnic tables are the latest contributions from Friends of Landaff.
