Lisbon Area Historical Society Museum announcement:

On Wednesday, July 23 at 7pm the Lisbon Area Historical Society Museum is offering a free program – Unearthing History Through Metal Detecting.

Detectorist Ben Hoyt Jr. will be the guest speaker and will delve into the world of metal detecting and artifact interpretation, as well as displaying a collection of artifacts uncovered through metal detecting. Hoyt will share stories of the exciting moments and the historical significance of his discoveries. 

Attendees will learn about detection techniques, research methods, and the importance of preserving local heritage. “This presentation is more than just showing artifacts; it’s about uncovering the narratives behind them,” Hoyt explains. “Each piece tells a story of the people who came before us, and I’m excited to share that journey.”
