From the desk of Marilyn Booth, Landaff Emergency Management Director
The following information is from Eversource:
Winter has come a bit early to the North Country and is expected to give us another snow event this weekend. With leaves still on the trees, the potential for outages in the region are increased. With the effects of Hurricane Willa expected to impact New Hampshire this weekend,
With predicted wind gusts of up to 50 mph, and soaking rains that will saturate the ground – loosening the roots of already weakened trees – this storm has the potential to bring down trees and tree limbs onto power lines and electric equipment. Eversource reminds customers to always stay clear of downed wires and to report them immediately to 9-1-1. Be sure to report any outage online at Eversource.com, or by calling 800-662-7764. Customers who signed up for the company’s two-way texting feature can send a text to report an outage and receive outage updates as they happen.
Stay safe.
