Look to the Stars with ACT’s Virtual “Star Party”

FRANCONIA – Calling all star gazers, newbies and experienced folks alike! The bright stars, constellations and brilliant planets of summer are all within easy reach thanks to a virtual (online) star party hosted by the Ammonosuc Conservation Trust (ACT) on Aug. 20 at 6 p.m. Learn all about the summer constellations, planets and more with ACT member, volunteer, and passionate astronomy enthusiast, Gary Ghioto.

Gary will show folks around the night sky highlighting easy to discover constellations and bright stars. Along the way, Gary will share ancient sky lore associated with the stars discussed, give observation tips, and show how to track satellites across the night sky.

Star partiers will also get a slew of resources including a free star map and links to astronomy websites. The presentation will run 30-45 minutes with plenty of time at the end for Gary to answer live questions from the audience.
