LISBON, N.H., June 7, 2021— The Boys and Girls Club of North Country, today announces the promotion of Sandy Brackett from Unit Director to Executive Director. Sandy has lived in the beautiful community of Landaff since 2015 after leaving the NH lakes region where she and her husband Andy resided for 15 years. Sandy is a graduate of Springfield College in Springfield, MA, a college based on the Humanics philosophy of spirit, mind, and body creating leaders who serve others. She holds a BS in Health & Fitness and a minor in business. Sandy brings with her the necessary management skills having been the Director of Educational Services for an internationally recognized fitness certification organization out of NYC for the last 12 years. Prior to that Sandy was both a Manager and an Assistant Manager of two major school bus companies. Sandy’s otherwise diverse background lends itself to this organization in many ways. She tells us that some of her most rewarding opportunities of the past have been as a foster parent providing opportunities for high-risk children. Sandy states “Growing up myself as a latch-key-kid, I often wonder how impactful a Boys & Girls Club would have been in my childhood. I believe in this organization. I believe in their mission with all my heart. I am grateful they have entrusted me with the future of these children”. Sandy’s past safety-focused background as a Police Dispatcher, a Child Advocacy Center volunteer, an EMT/Paramedic Assistant, an on-call level II Fire Fighter and CPR, First Aid, AED instructor for over 30 years will be of immense value to the Club moving forward. Her commitment to the Boys & Girls Club’s non-profit mission is evident and she looks forward to ensuring that all children in our surrounding North Country communities have a positive, safe, fun place to go after school and during school vacations that will enhance their lives and shape their futures as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.
