Landaff Old Home Day

From the desk of The Landaff Volunteer Fire Association;

August 2021

Dear Landaff Neighbor,

Landaff Old Home Day is almost here.  This year’s date is Saturday, August 21st.  Please see below for the Schedule of Events.

The Landaff Volunteer Fire Association is again asking for quality donations for the auction.  These items could include antiques, furniture, musical instruments, art of all kinds, tools, crafts, baked goods, maple syrup, vehicles, or even services from your business.  The firefighters will pick up your donations, so please call as soon as possible to aid with scheduling.  Also, calling early will help us advertise specific unique or valuable items.  Your donation is tax deductible.

For auction pick up please call 838-2308 (Dale Locke), or 838-8965 (Jason Cartwright).  Feel free to leave a message if necessary or email LandaffVFD@gmail.com.  All donations and proceeds from the auction and the concession stand to benefit the Landaff Volunteer Fire Association which supports the fire department, and a small percentage goes to the college scholarship fund.

The Benefit Supper will be sure to please with settings at 4:30PM and 5:30PM

For reservations, please call Julie LaPierre at 838-6870 or 838-5269 (Karen Proulx).  Takeout is also available.  Reservations MUST be made by August 15 to be included in the dinner and for takeout.  Special Covid considerations will be in place to ensure safety and proper handling for the supper.

The cost of the supper is $10 for adults and $5 for children 4-12 years of age.  Of course, additional monetary donations are welcome too!  We need help in the kitchen, if you can help with the dinner, please call Julie or Karen.  We plan to have a great time, and everyone is invited!

We hope to see you, your family, and friends on Old Home Day.  We appreciate your continued support and community spirit that make living in Landaff so special!

We are happy to resume this annual tradition going back over 50 years.  We carefully considered safety precautions and know that our resident’s safety is priority.  The events during the day will be held outside and allow plenty of space for distancing.  During dinner, seating inside will be limited, and we will have multiple pop-up tents and tables outside for trusted groups to sit together.  We believe the residents understand the safety necessary and will take proper precautions while attending the event.  If you haven’t been vaccinated, it is suggested to wear a mask.  We were contacted by the State of NH for them to host a vaccination clinic at the event and were pleased to accept the offer to help anyone who wants to be vaccinated receive the vaccination.  You may speak with the personnel on hand to understand which vaccination is available and whether it is the right choice for you.  It will be a great day and we appreciate your support.
