If you missed applying for free smoke alarms and fire extinguishers, or if you need something particular for your house, the Fire Safety Picnic will also feature the opportunity to order wired, battery, or wireless networked alarms and household extinguishers at wholesale. People who applied for the free equipment may also order more.
The equipment for sale starts at six dollars and includes basic wired and wireless alarms, alarms with 10-year sealed batteries, and even alarms with that make voice announcements with locations, as in ‘smoke in the basement’.
There will also be information about how and where to install smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and hands-on fire extinguisher training.
So if you need new alarms, more alarms, extinguishers, or just the chance to become more knowledgeable about fire safety, come to the Landaff Fire Station at 2 pm on Sunday, June 4.
Note: please pass this on to other Landaff residents who may not subscribe to the Ledger!
