Crossing Guard Program
School year 2021-2022
The Lisbon Police Department is looking for community oriented volunteers to assist in the safety of our students as they return to school for the 2021 – 2022 Lisbon Regional School year.
A School Crossing Guard will be trained by the Lisbon Police Department in the laws and safety applicable to the volunteer position. This is an unpaid professional position.
School Crossing Guard vests and stop signs will be provided by the Lisbon Police Department. Travel to and from the crossing areas will be the responsibility of the selected volunteers.
A School Crossing Guard should be in good physical condition as to not inhibit one’s ability to walk multiple times across the street for a period of roughly 45 minutes in the morning and 45 minutes in the afternoon during all types of weather conditions.
School Crossing Guards will be requested on a daily basis, Monday through Friday from the hours of 07:15am until 0800am, and again from 2:15pm until 3:00pm.
Individuals interested in the Volunteer positions will need to fill out an application from the Lisbon Police Department and submit to a background investigation/fingerprints as required by Law for positions in direct contact with children.
